Do party platforms really matter? An article by Vox, a left leaning publication, had a great deal to say about the significance of a party platform.

The current Ohio Republican State Central Committee has at last undertaken serious attempts at completing a Party Platform. At the time of this publication, the Ohio Republican Party has not released the status of the platform to the public. Like any successful organization or business there needs to be an agreed upon mission and/or vision statement to keep members of the company on task in seeing it’s core missions to completion in the most effective manner possible. The clearer the expectations in the platform, the higher the standards that we can hold elected republicans to. With our liberty and freedoms at stake we do not need any more moderate candidates in the Republican Party. Having a platform specific to the Ohio Republican Party, will help clean up the corruption and maintain standards of performance for our elected representatives, whether they are elected to public office or elected to party positions.
