East Palestine, Ohio

We remember the tragedy in East Palestine that continues to be an ongoing concern for all Ohioans as it relates to Ohio’s massive railway system. That very train that derailed in East Palestine, had in fact passed through Northwest Ohio earlier that same day as the derailment in East Palestine. The route that the train used that day passes a high school just a couple of miles down the road from where I live. Could that train have derailed here instead of East Palestine? No one knows for sure.

While we can not know for sure when or where accidents like these may occur, we can know that there are measures being taken to do what can be done to prevent another event like this in Ohio. This article discusses a settlement by the railroad. But it doesn’t seem that a preventative solution has been reached as the tragedy has become politicized. One thing is certain, our fellow citizens in East Palestine could still use some help and our prayers for everyone affected.
